Thankful Thursday

"Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility [as the garb of a servant, so that its covering cannot possibly be stripped from you, with freedom from pride and arrogance] toward one another. For God sets Himself against the proud (the insolent, the overbearing, the disdainful, the presumptuous, the boastful)--- [and He opposes, frustrates and defeats them], but gives grace (favor, blessing) to the humble."
--1 Peter 5:5

This was the verse in my daily devotion book this morning and It had such a strong message punched into it. I am always amazed at how just one amazing verse from the Bible can renew and give us strength.

Something during the reading truly hit home. The basis of it was that when we are given compliments, we should be grateful for them (even when we do not agree). We should take every compliment as a rose, and at the end of the day we are to OFFER the entire bouquet to God and be thankful towards him for blessing us with those qualities, traits etc...

So often we find ourselves trying to boast who we got these talents from when in reality we are to just be humble to our fellow neighbors and offer all the thanks to God quietly when we have our time with him each day. That time is to thank the true giver of these qualities he has bestowed upon us.

So todays Thankful Thursday is short, sweet and to the point, Let us Give thanks to the One who deserves all the thanks in the world and beyond.

I challenge you today to offer up your bouquet to our ever-loving God and for us all to strip away any arrogance or pride within our lives.

Blessed Be!
